Drawing inspiration from popular crime drama television, “Episodes of Violence” acts to examine and unravel specific formulaic devices by reducing scenes to their fundamental components. Focusing on the oddly calm moments before or after the crime or trauma, we wish to compose an ongoing thread of displaced, fragmented narrative moments that exist in the space between the artificiality of cinema and the humanness of trauma, seeking a balance between suspense and meditation, violence and stillness.
