Como Está A Sua Saúde? (2021) installs a mobile, artistic ‘wellness clinic’ in Cascais, Portugal. The installation was positioned in the public space adjoining the national immigration service (SEF), a charity service named Santa Casa da Misericórdia, a cathedral, and an overpriced health food restaurant. The space brought together a cross-section of publics from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Performers Jody Wood and Alexandre Diaphre engaged visitors in open conversation about health in English or Portuguese, and invited participants to write prescriptions for each other concerning social, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health. The project explores health as a social contract and re-imagines personal wellness as a gift that can be transferred through community exchange. Project generously supported by AiR 351 / FLAD
