SOSZIP.com endeavors to create an online platform that connects those in need with people who can help using a format according to zip code. SOSZIP promotes lateral caregiving whereby participants can be in need and helping at the same time. We are particularly committed to creating a low-barrier platform that is easy to use for people of any age group, and invites participation regardless of housing and citizenship status. People can use SOSZIP to connect with resources that may be provided by individuals or organizations in whatever zipcode they are in. The project anticipates an urgent social need for community care in a national austerity period to follow COVID-19.
